Our goal is LOCAL Community, LOCAL Education, LOCAL Support!
The Scituate Duathlon has worked intensely to bring you two awe-inspiring charities that all work locally, give locally, and need locally. They are different in their specific goals, but common in the ties that bring them to our race: the need to Empower Women, their Children and their Families! Below you will see their names, memorize their stories, and be blown away by their commitment. Please use the links provided to see more about who they are:
Friendship Home:
Founded in 1999 by mothers of adults with developmental disabilities, Friendship Home provides opportunities for friendship, empowerment, life skills education, recreation and volunteer work for individuals with developmental disabilities across the South Shore through Friendship Club. Friendship Home, located in Norwell, will be complete in 2010, offering unique opportunities for these special individuals, while providing them a "home away from home" for brief periods.

Women Living Authentically:
This spring 2010 workshop will celebrate, inspire, and empower women to live connected, grounded, and whole. It is inspired by the work of Parker Palmer and brought to you together with his team at Courage & Renewal Northeast at Wellesley College.
